Annual General Meeting

The AGM of Eccleston CC was held at the clubhouse on Tuesday 27th January 2009. There were 27 people in attendance, with apologies for 6 more.

The Secretary commenced the meeting`s issues, by reading out a letter from Brian Wane, the vice Chairman, in which he announced his resignation from the Committee. A vote of thanks, for what was thought to be some 50 years or so of dedicated work at the club was recorded.

The election of officers resulted in the President, and Chairman being re-elected. Chris Weetman replaced Chris Norris as secretary, with the latter also becoming assistant treasurer with a view to him taking over the treasurer`s role next year. Tony Foster was re-elected Junior Secretary. Tony Goodman replaced Brian Wane on the cricket committee.

Jamie Maitland stood down as 1st team captain, and was replaced by Iain Bradley. Jamie became vice captain. There were two nominations for 2nd team captain, Pete Baxendale and Chris Weetman, and after a vote Chris was elected captain. Adam Gregory was re-appointed vice captain.

In addition to the two captains and vice captains Tony Foster and Tony Goodman became members of the selection committtee.
Junior team managers and their assistants were nominated as follows:

Unde 10`s Chris Weetman and James Crowley
Under 11`s Chris Norris and Steve Green
Under 13`s Dave Hewson and Ian Russell
Under 15` Iain Bradley and Martin Sexton
Under 17` Dave Flanagan

Subscriptions
Because of a continuing shortfall in income compared to expenditure it was decided to keep the annual subscriptions the same, but increase match fees. After considerable debate, it was decided that Senior match fees wold be £8 with juniors (in a senior match being £5) Junior matches would be £3.

On going ground drainage issues were discussed with  a view to looking at them after the work on the clubhouse was completed. Thanks were given for the efforts of Jim Bradley, Harry Norris and Brian Wane.

Further thanks were given to Wally Foster for his umpiring, Wally Bromley for the boundary boards, and Lynn Norris for huge amounts of work behind the scenes.

The marquee `do` and presentation evening were discussed and a fantasy cricket league was discussed.
